Book suggestions?

Well, I am not doing good these days. I mean nothing wrong just those days when you feel everything is wrong despite them being just not in your favour. I know it’s Christmas and new year’s time but I have decided to stay indoors and cuddle into my bed with lots of goods books and my fellow friends here got to help me with that.

I will not mention what I like but I can safely say horror is not my cup of tea so any suggestions from you will be really helpful.

PS: Thanks in advance.

  1. If you like slow-paced and descriptive fiction, then I would like to recommend “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt and “Inheritance of Loss” by Kiran Desai. Among classic fiction “Wuthering Heights” and “Jane Eyre” are the ones that you may like. “Never let me go” is a beautiful story and deeply sad as well. And if you can handle tears then any of the Khalid Hosseini’s books can be picked up. Hope you like the recommendations. 🙂

    1. Hi there, I certainly liked the books and authors you have picked. I am happy that we have similar taste and I have already read Kiran desai, Khalid Hosseini and the classic you have mentioned.
      Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
PS: A thousand splendid suns however many times I read brings tears to my eyes at such an amount that I have to turn to comedy on the other side.

  2. For romance you can go with All rights reserved for you by Sudeep Nagarkar, When love remains by Durjoy Dutta and more of these writers.
For crime my favorite Playing with Fire by Kate Meader, loved this one 💓

  3. Oh, I wanted you to know that I just recently read THE NAMESAKE by Jhumpa Lahiri. It was a marvelous book. I loved it. Thank you for recommending it.

Now as for your winter reading…hmmm, if you want to read a great classic novel, one of my all time favorites is THE SOUND OF THE MOUNTAIN by Kawabata, but if you’re interested in a modern mystery thriller type, Higashino’s THE DEVOTION OF SUSPECT X is great! American wise, If you haven’t read it already, Sue Monk Kidd’s THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES is wonderful. The British novel, GIRL ON THE TRAIN is worth your time if you want a good contemporary mystery-thriller.

Now if you’re in for a looooong winter read, Tolstoy’s WAR AND PEACE is the greatest Winter novel ever. It’s a book you definitely should read while wrapped in warm covers and a hot drink nearby! 🙂
